Litter Collection
The waterway needs your help!
Summer is here and celebrations at the lake have peaked leaving behind lots of litter.
Before the litter has a chance to enter the waterway and hurts our wildlife lets roll up our sleeves and get rid of it.
Sunday 6th April @ 9.00am
We will be meeting at the notice board between the bridge and playground Griffiths St, Reservoir.
We first be collecting the litter then conducting litter sort so we can upload the data into LitterWatch portal.
https://www.litterwatchvictoria.org.au/
If you do wish to participate in the litter collection, please sure that you;
1. Wear suitable sturdy, closed toed shoes, long sleeves and long pants
2. Are sun smart with a hat, protective clothing and sunscreen
3. Register your details via the QR code when you arrive (name, email address and phone number etc.) for insurance purposes, before picking up litter
4. Do not enter the water. The water can hold hidden dangers. Instead take a photo of any litter in the water and let one of the FoEL team know.
5. Do not enter tall grass. Tall grass can hold hidden dangers such as holes and snakes. You may also risk stepping, crushing and possibly killing smaller reptiles and amphibians who may call the tall grass home
6. Remember to take before and after photos of the areas you clean
We will be collecting litter for about 1.5 hour then finishing by the litter sorting.
There is no expectation to stay for any length of time, every bit helps!

FoEL Garden Bed Weeding
It's that time again... and we need your help! Let's get weeding!
On Sunday 24th November @ 9.00am - 12.30pm we will be rolling up our sleeves to get rid of the weeds! Meet Point will be at the notice board between the bridge and playground Griffiths St, Reservoir. If you arrive late we will be in the Friends of Edwardes Lake Bed which is located between the lake and athletic field. Walk south along the path from the slide and you’ll find us.
We will be providing a quick run-down of the tasks, some weeding 101 tips and be able help with Weed ID.
If you do wish to participate in the weeding, please ensure that you;
1. Bring your own gloves
2. Wear suitable sturdy, closed toed shoes, long sleeves and long pants. A must for weeding!
3. Are sun smart with a hat, protective clothing and sunscreen
4. Register your details via the QR Code when you arrive (name and phone number etc.)
5. Do not enter tall grass. Tall grass can hold hidden dangers such as holes and snakes. You may also risk stepping, crushing and possibly killing smaller reptiles and amphibians who may call the tall grass home
6. Remember to take before and after photos of the areas you weed!
7. Bring your can-do attitude
All ages and abilities welcome! There is no expectation to stay for the length of time you wish to weed for, every bit helps!
